Dr. Gary Jones
Dr. Gary Jones graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas
City in 1969. He joined the faculty at the College of Dentistry,
University of Nebraska, where for ten years he taught first year
students dental anatomy, second year students occlusion, and
supervised third and fourth year students in clinical occlusion and
restorative dentistry. Dr. Jones was involved in research in
occlusion and in computer aided education. He maintained a part
time dental practice during this time and then moved into full time
private practice for 25 years.
Dr. Jones grew up on a dairy farm north of Cabool, Missouri as the oldest of three boys. He has a BS in Chemistry from McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas, and a MS in Biology from Kansas State University - Emporia. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Jones taught high school Biology for seven years, and also did some coaching. Dr. Jones has three children; a daughter who is a retired kindergarten teacher living in San Diego, a son in real estate in Denver and a son with an art gallery in Palm Springs.
In his spare time, Dr. Jones is involved with plants as a master
gardener. While living in Lincoln, Nebraska, he maintained over
325 different varieties of Hosta. He currently has a large yard in
Ozark and had 50 African Violets before all were lost during last
year's ice storm. Dr. Jones says he will do his best to remove the
dirt from under his finger nails before seeing patients at the
Fordland Clinic.
