New psychologist at Fordland Clinic

Dr. Mark Stocks has joined the team at the Fordland Clinic as a new psychologist, according to a news release from the clinic.
Stocks is available for appointments on Thursdays.
He has been a licensed clinical psychologist in Springfield since 1984, the release said.
Stocks has held faculty positions at Evangel University, where he was the director of the counseling center and the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, where he also was director of resident training.
He has had clinical practices at Burrell Center, St. John's Behavioral Health, Family Care of Springfield and his own practice, Christian Counseling Services.
He is a graduate of Evangel University, Youngstown State University and Biola University, where he received his doctorate in clinical psychology.
Stocks is a veteran of the Vietnam War and has worked with Vietnam veterans' groups and individuals to enable their adjustment.
The news release said he presently is interested in working with depressed and anxiety disorders in adults, couples and families.
He is also interested in working with Post Traumatic Disorders, including military veterans.
He has a particular interest in working with individuals who are highly sensitive to religious or spiritual issues over their life span.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association, National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology, Missouri Psychological Association and is a certified health services provider.
Medicare, Medicaid and most commercial-insurance plans are accepted.
A sliding-fee scale, based on income, is available to patients with no insurance.
