Fordland Clinic Inc. receives $6,919.30
The Fordland Clinic Inc. participated in the Price Cutter Charity Championship-PGA National Tour this past July and is looking for volunteers to participate in the 2007 event, set for next July 19-22.
The championship raises funds for local charities to fund children's programs and the Fordland Clinic uses these funds to support their children's dental program, “Cavity Busters.”
Last year, the clinic was responsible for locating volunteers for the eighth hole for four days at Highland Springs Golf Course, located just southeast of Springfield.
The Fordland Clinic received checks totaling $6,919.30, as well as a $100 bill from the John Q. Hammons Foundation to “make a difference in someone else's life.”
Volunteers receive free admission to all of the region's pro-am events, as well as the championship at Highland Springs, a shirt, cap or visor plus more items, meals while working and admission to many social events associated with the championship, including food and drinks at the benefit auction.
Volunteers who work at least two shifts receive a free round of golf or dinner at the Tower Club in Springfield.
This volunteer “package” is free to the first 20 volunteers who agree to work three or more half-day shifts and is available for $40 to anyone willing to work at least one shift for the clinic.
Raffle tickets for a new Cadillac and a $10,000 check again will be sold by the clinic in 2007.
For more information, contact Robert Marsh at the clinic at (417) 767-2273.
