Introducing Fordland Clinic's
![]() Children's Dental Program
CAVITY BUSTERS!
We Want YOUR Children!!!
We want to see every child in Webster County (who does not have access to dental care) EVERY 6 months for basic prevention (no needles) care, starting at age 12 months!
FREE Dental Care for Kids!
Friday, Febrary 1st & Saturday, February 2, 2008 was
"Give Kids a Smile Day"
If you start young you can eliminate well over 90% of all cavities! We use fluoride varnish. Varnish treatments can be started at ANY age, using minimal amounts of fluoride to get GREAT results both in preventing cavities for up to 6 months AND IN REVERSING VERY SMALL CAVITIES !!!!!
Free toothbrush, paste, & floss to all patients. Free SUGAR FREE GUM to mothers of children under 5.
We provide full dental care to all children and pregnant women. We will be expanding to provide care to adults in the future as we find additional dental staff.
For more information please call 417-767-2273.
Our thanks to Dr. Brett Wyman DDS. When our dental program was in dire need of a dentist, Dr. Wyman gave us three Fridays and one Saturday a month until we could find full time dental staff. Dr. Wyman also donated assistance with development of our dental program.
Fordland Clinic now has a "Rolling Raffle" program!
Proceeds assist in funding the children's dental program "Cavity Busters". This program aggressively focuses on prevention and good oral care starting at one year of age as recommended by the American Dental Association. This is offered as outreach and at the clinic where full restorative care is also provided.
On February 1st and 2nd Fordland Clinic as part of the American Dental Associations “Give Kids A Smile Day” provided FREE dental care to area children who do not have insurance.
The ADA and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry both recommend that the first dental visit occur by the child’s first birthday, yet most children do not receive dental care until later in life. The clinic does not see as many young children as we should be seeing, so this year we offered appointments for free services to children under 2 until the 15th of January. After the 15th, appointments were available for all children, ages 1 to 20.
Children received an exam by a dentist, cleaning and fluoride varnish by a hygienist, and any needed X-rays ~ ALL AT NO CHARGE.
Mothers of children 5 and under were provided with a supply of Xylitol Sugar Free gum. Studies have shown that when mothers chew sugar free gum, and even more so with Xylitol gum, their children get fewer cavities.
On February 3rd, 2007, Fordland Clinic in partnership with the
American Dental Association and local dentists hosted
We provide restorative dental and hygiene care to almost 60 area children.
Last year, Ted Laughlin from Ted's Automotive in Fordland, MO (417-767-2717) offered this Challenge to the Community. . .
If before February 3rd (2007), donations to the children's dental
program 'Cavity Busters' meets or exceed $3,120.00 (50% of
our goal and the anticipated cost of the materials that will be used
in children's mouths on this one day) he will attempt to drive last
years Demolition Derby car up a ramp and THROUGH a house in
downtown Fordland!
Those who want to help can donate or assist with other fund raising activities.
Fordland Clinic would like to thank . . .
