Get Off Sugar
Hooked on sugar (or artificial sweeteners)
and can't get off?

1. Many times sugar cravings are a signal from the body that the previous meal was a problem.  It was skipped, had too many simple carbohydrates or had too little protein. (Sugar cravings are sometimes signals of early endocrine problems, so discuss this with your health care provider.)
2. Caffeine should NEVER be consumed on an empty stomach.  It makes many body functions swing to excesses, especially blood sugar levels. Two or three servings a day with meals is acceptable.

3. All artificial sweeteners are bad for you. People who LIKE the taste of NutriSweet (Aspartame/Equal) will often like the taste of Kiwi Sweetener.
4. Natural sweeteners taste twice as sweet as sugar and are half or less bad for you.  Honey is cheap (just use 1/2 as much as the recipe calls for sugar and subtract 1/2 tsp. of liquid for each cup of honey.  (This works well except in foods baked at very high temperatures).
5. Fructose and brown sugar are one's to avoid.  You can't get these in real form anymore.  What you can get is not better than white sugar (and you risk manufacturing problems).

6. Try real Maple Sugar to add taste too.

7. Xylitol is a poorly absorbed natural sugar.  You get less calories and it assists with keeping healthy teeth.
8. Agave Nectar and Stevia (plain) are other good sweeteners.

9. Please ask for a simple diet plan and schedule a nutritional counseling appointment.
