Insurance?
We have found that trying to understand your insurance, what it
covers and what it does not, requires a degree in rocket science!
Of course, your plans and benefits are constantly changing to
make this even worse. Please talk to your specific insurance plan
for details. Insurance Company Links
Please ask our Office Manager or our Billing Clerk if you have any
questions about how to contact your insurance or if you even think
that a statement is not correct.
We accept all Cox insurance and all insurance that requires you to
go to Cox Hospital for Family Practice and Urgent Care. If you are
assigned to a specific provider (and it is not Dr. Brady or Mr. Marsh)
there should be no problem with any Urgent Care visit. Occasionally
a referral from your provider is required for Family Practice (non-
urgent) visits. Our front desk person will request this but it is up to
your provider to approve. Some insurance plans have very poor
benefits for lab tests. It may be very cost effective NOT to use your
insurance in these cases but to utilize our reference lab instead.
We accept all St. John's insurance and all insurance that requires
you to go to St. John's Hospital for Urgent Care. We accept some
St. John's insurance for Family Practice but can not guarantee which
one's in advance. We are in almost no Premier / Mercy plans for
Family Practice. If this is an inconvenience to you please let them
know! We are in most non-Premier plans for Family Practice. Even
if your insurance is not acceptable at Fordland Family Medical, our
prices are very competitive and we can order needed labs and other
tests at St. John's where your insurance will cover what we order.
We accept all Doctor's Hospital insurance (they are in the same
Primrose Healthcare network that the Cox hospitals, Ferrell-Duncan Clinic, Fordland Family Medical and other providers are in). We
accept the only other separate insurance that requires Doctors's Hospital.
We accept most other insurance. If we don't accept your insurance
now, please talk to our Office Manager and we should be able to
start accepting your insurance in the near future.
We accept Medicare and are a participating provider. This means
that we accept Medicare rates and that we will never bill you for
additional charges over the deductible and co-pay's on Medicare
approved charges that your co-insurance did not cover.
We accept Missouri Medicaid.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our
office manager or our billing clerk.
The links below are provided to make contacting your insurance company easier. This list is not updated on a regular basis. If you have any problems please report them at Information@FordlandClinic.org

No Insurance or money?
Fordland Clinic is proud to offer our services on a sliding fee scale to allow access to healthcare for everyone irregardless of ability to pay. It is our philosophy that while everyone is required to pay for services, the cost for services is discounted down based on your income, with those under 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) paying only a nominal amount (our minimum charge). NOTE: to qualify for the maximum discount a family of 4 would need to have an income under $20,650 in 2007.
Charges increase as your income increases up to 200% of the FPL ($41,300 for a family of 4 in 2007).
SOURCE: Federal Register, Vol. 73, No. 15, January 23, 2008, pp. 3971–3972
How do we determine our charges?
Maximum charge = the most the clinic receives in reimbursement from insurance companies, this is almost always LESS than full retail.
Minimum charge = the nominal fee set by our board of directors.
The charges in between are uniform steps between the minimum and the maximum.
